SOS Scribes Update
Thank you to all who support all that we do. Our fans and family are the best!!
(Photos by Emmanuel Sigauke) Maybe March madness is all about basketball, but for the Scribes, it's was all about Mud Cloth Roots, our latest collection of poetry. The book was well-received at the Sacramento Poetry Center (SPC) Monday night March 16. Rebecca/Eskimo Pie was our wonderful host and notables such as Emmanuel Sigauke, Zica member Jaqueline and others who slip my mind at the moment turned up to help us celebrate. It was a well-attended event and young and old showed their sincere appreciation. Of course our poetry was dedicated to women in recognition of women's herstory month. It was a great night.
On Saturday March 21, SOS featured at the Hagginwood Library. Again, we received massive love and respect from those in attendance and shared poems sticking with the women's herstory month theme.
As we usher in April, SOS is preparing for our upcoming appearances. We will continue to honor women, but will also read poems in recognition of National Poetry Month. Mud Cloth Roots will still be the foundation for our reading. Catch us at Luna's Cafe on April 9, 8 p.m. and/or at Fenix studio on April 11.
