The SuperBowl is probably a good way to kick off Black History Month, since so many of those involved are Black folks. And we definitely participated on Sunday, Feb. 1 while attending our standard party at Pauline's. It was an amazing time. The week went by in a blur.
On Friday, we quietly celebrated Bob Marley's birthday, singing Don't Worry About a Thing, but then Bob Marley music is a regular part of our lives. We indeed had a Happy Friday 2/6/15 which wrapped up with a poetry reading at New Testament Baptist Church. They do "Poetry Live" every other month. Wow! They were so amazing. They truly spoiled us. They treated us so well and were so appreciative of the words we shared. We floated out of there, spirits soaring, which was a particularly special blessing since the rain and the wind made it seem like we might need a boat to row out of there. Incidentally, the new book Mud Cloth Roots arrived on our doorstep just before we departed to attend the event and New Testament got the first look. It was well received. This blog will be updated regularly after our events. To see where the Scribes will visit next, check out our events tab. Peace! |
