We attended our first ball in October... Tahuti's Ball at La Pena in Oakland to be exact. Bro. Paradise put on the first Tahuti's Ball and plans to throw the ball again next year. in tribute and remembrance of the beloved Baba Tahuti. The libation, musical performances, Orisha ceremony, singing and the Straight Out Scribes mother/daughter spoken word offering were well received by the appreciative audience and we believe that Tahuti's spirit was pleased. The ball is open to the public and we hope to see you there next year!

Thanks for the photo Frank Dixon Graham. On July 23 SOS continued our celebration of 25 years as a spoken word duo and the release of our new poetry collection Mud Cloth Roots at Luna's Cafe. Thank you for the photo Frank Dixon Graham!
JoAnn sat in for Jeannie and hosted us for Access Sacramento's Soap Box at the end of June for a live show that aired, but folks tell us that reruns are already in progress. We had a great time discussing our 25 year journey, our latest collection of poetry, Mud Cloth Roots, and much more. Plus JoAnn hosts us again this month so you can tune in for that one. Check the events page for details.
Here's a pic submitted by a family friend fan. Thanks Kimberly! |
